Website Initial Template Ideas....

Hi everyone,

Today I decided to think about my website in more detail - in terms of the layout. Therefore, I came up with a few template ideas that could potentially work.

Design 1:

• I like the layout of this design as it adds a bit of diversity to it with the varied sections opposing each other.
• The website will be on one page and will have a scroll bar in order to access all areas on the page, allowing each section to keep at a suitable size to read.
• I like the idea that all of the information required is on one page, however, having links to these different sections maybe best so that the layout is simplified and easier for the user to understand and control. 

 





Design 2:

• With this design I particularly like the uniqueness of the photo and logo of the artist being placed towards the left hand side of the webpage. However, considering the fact that I am thinking of using a horizontal landscape as my main webpage photo, therefore the vertical image idea is not suitable.
• I also feel like everything is not separated enough and doesn't give each heading a different section - this can become confusing for the user.
• Also, I feel like the design makes each individual small, and therefore will not be big enough for the user to read, or watch as my music video will be published - which is one of the main important sections of the website. This is because it's purely for a promotional basis and for the fans. Therefore, the particular section needs to be big in order to grab the users attention and too prevent them from getting distracted with the other sections on the page. As a result, within my next design I will aim, like Lana Del Rey's website, to fill the page and have individual yet bigger sections for each heading.

Design 3:

• From dividing this design up into different sections makes it less distracting and instead helps to guide the user through the website better, as I am thinking to have a scroll bar as well as the hyperlinks on a tool bar that will follow you through the webpage, therefore it gives you the choice on how to explore the page.
• However, the Merchandise section will be going on a separate page due to the fact that I want the section to be separated with its own layout that makes it easy for users to shop.
• This design is my favourite design out of my three designs made.

Even though Design 3 is my favourite, I am still going get some audience feedback on each of the designs, in order to see other peoples preferences on the matter - as there might be better suggestions. I will also be asking people that are within my target audience and age group bracket of 13 - 24 year olds.
