Website Builder Software....

Hi everyone,

Soon I will be starting to create my website, which will provide many features, including: up-to-date information, teaser videos, teaser pictures, behind the scenes shooting images, links to social media, links to enable users to purchase merchandise, links to download and streaming websites, and the main music that I am currently producing, etc.

As a result, I researched for information regarding website builder software, which includes:

Wix -
  • Wix's offers simple options in order to create a great website but with easy steps
  • The simplest option to choose is the Wix ADI (Artificial Design Intelligence) - this guides you though a series of questions before automatically creating your site for you - there is the ability for customisation, but the focus is to produce a fast and easy website for people who may not understand or know how.
  • A more hands-on approach is available if you decided to choose the standard Wix Editor, where you can chose form hundreds of creative template. You can further tailor these templates to your own needs.
  • Despite Wix being a cloud-based website builder, it still gives you a lot of control over the look of your site and placement of page elements.
  • You can further liven your website up by using App Market to add features such as a newsletter and live chat.

WordPress -
  • WordPress can be more complicate than Wix.
  • You can customise the templates that are provided and use add-ons to make the site your own.
  • This is a route many bloggers use, but WordPress also involves the requirement of hassle with working with the scripting of the webpage and harsh editing.
  • You can create everything from a blog or photo sites, to an online store - with a number of templates to choose from.
  • Creates an impressive and professional looking site.
  • However, the downside includes the limited range of plugins and templates compared to other website builders.

CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor -
  • Packs a professional punch.
  • It involves split screen code/preview views, allowing the possibility of seeing the changes that you have made straight away.
  • The website builder is great to get started quickly, as there are many different templates built into the programme.
  • However, it might be a bit overwhelming for beginners - requires some HTML knowledge.
  • The free version does not contain any spell-checking and code optimisation features.

Joomla -
  • Has a huge collection of themes and extensions, which provide endless ways to customise the way your site looks and works.
  • However, within the latter option, the interface is much less approachable than on WordPress, but there are lots of menus and options to work through, though it is not as polished as WordPress.

SITE123 -
  • Start by choosing a general format, allowing you to create websites like a simple blog or a complicated online store.
  • Allows for customisation, with everything being simple to use.
  • In a matter of minutes you can create a site with an unlimited number of pages, complete with free hosting, with a library of free images and icons to work with.
  • You are restricted to 500GB of web space and 1GB of traffic, but you can easily upgrade to one of the paid options.

I think that I will be choosing to use the website builder Wix to create my website, due to the description sounding simple and easy to use with many templates to choose from - suitable for a beginner. Therefore, this sounds like a perfect choice for me to enable me to begin to create my website.

Hope you enjoyed reading!

See you soon!
