I wanted to make sure that I am choosing a logo for my artist suitable for my target audience and the genre of the music itself, and towards my music video. Therefore, I decided to ask peoples opinions:
Laura Knowles
She commented on my individual logos, stating:
Logo 1 - Signature Design
- Simple yet a distinct style
- Relates to any genre
- Easily recognisable, as it is the signature of the actual artist
- 1-10 = 8
Logo 2 - Geometric Design
- Fits with your theme of outside life
- Relates to genre - Indie Pop
- Likes the uniqueness - looks cool and different
- More defined for merchandise than Logo 1, as it will stand out due to it being originality.
- 1-10 = 7
- Fits with the single you are producing a music video for, due to the stars - Borns 'Seeing Stars'.
- It still fits with the theme of outside life.
- It stands out within the industry as a whole with the name, but also with the crest and the stars individually - making it unique and making the logo itself have two functions.
- The whole logo will look good on merchandise, but the crest and the stars individually will make this merchandise look cool with its own individual style instead of just a name - making it relatable to your chosen target audience as this age category will like quirky and unusual designs.
- Font is bold and simple, but yet is stylish within its form of simplicity, overall making it simple but yet effective.
- 1-10 = 9
- Fits in well with your chosen theme and genre - outside life
- Simple but might not stand out as much due to its simplicity of the overall theme of the logo.
- It is interesting and unusual but it might not stand out as much within the market as well of Logo 3 and the Crest design, as it is not as symbolic.
- The mountains could be used as individually as a second function, like Logo 3. However, ultimately it doesn't have that fun and quirky aspect to it like Logo 3 does, also I think it doesn't have the potential to reflect upon your target audience like the crest and stars would.
- 1-10 = 8
From this response I have learnt that the Logo 3 and the Crest Design is so far the favourite one, and therefore the one I will be considering. However, I still am going to get a wider opinion on my logo design from a range of people, including different ages and genders in order to get an accurate response.
Hope you enjoyed reading!
See you soon!
