Location Scouting for Day 5 Shooting....

Hi everyone,

For day 5 of shooting (my last day of shooting) I will be going to Sutton Scarsdale Hall as it provides good shots for a wide shot including a scenic background which includes Bolsover Castle. Also, surrounding the Hall provides trees with leaves - which is perfect for a more summer atmosphere as the trees in previous locations, like the Peak District and Clumber Park didn't consist of any green leaves. Sutton Scarsdale Hall also provide some unique shots or my CD Package, as the old building can add extra character to the shots.

From this, I will then be going to Lumsdale Valley/Falls in Matlock, which consist the perfect place for unique and spontaneous shots. The waterfalls there will also add another varied shot to my music video, adding to a paradise vibe. The waterfalls there are also at different tiers to it, again providing varied shots.

Location Scouting for Day 4 Shooting....

Hi everyone,

For day 4 of shooting I am planning to pick up on Day 2 shots at Stanfree and re-film some shots there - including the hope of filming next to the postbox as it could be a great place to add in graphics in post-production.

I will also be planning to go to Clumber Park, in order to get a more woodland setting - to vary my shots even further. The Clumber Park shots will also provide a mysterious fantasy vibe, as it is a valley of trees - which can further connote the idea that love is an ever long lasting journey as I am planning for my artist to walk down the centre with a long/wide shot - representing this meaning well.

Hi everyone,

On day 3 of shooting I will be filming at home in front of the white screen. The backdrop to which I am pinning it up to wall have no solid back to it, as I am pinning it up width ways across a room. As a result, this allows me to try different effects on the day, for example: silhouette effect.

In my original plan I think that the white screen provides a break from the rural setting, even though I am aware that the contrasting shots may not work together. However, I am still going to film the footage with the white screen, as it is always good to film more than to film less - allowing for extra pick up shots if need be.

Location Scouting for Day 2 Shooting....

Hi everyone,

For day 2 of my production I have decided to vary my locations from day 1 within the Peak District and instead go for shots near water - in order to produces more picturesque shots that are usually included in most music videos. Therefore, I will be going to Poolsbrook park in order to get these water scenic shots. Also, when looking at the weather in advance I have found that this particular day is going to be sunny - therefore I am hoping for some reflections to take place from the water - allowing the summer vibe of the song to come through.

The places that I am going to is Stanfree Woods, as this allows me to get a good backdrop of the artist against scenery. Also, the open sky there is a great place to film in order to tie in with the lyrics: 'Hey, girl you've got me learning to fly, you got me higher than a kite and I've been painting the sky' - further adding a great backdrop for post-production editing processes when thinking about adding in graphics to my music video.

Day 1 - Risk Assessment....

Location Scouting for Day 1 Shooting....

Hi everyone,

Today I decided to do some location scouting within the Peak District and found these locations, which I think will be perfect for my music video. This is because it contains aspects of outside life as well as youthful fun (i.e. the park) allowing my music video to have a wide variety of different shots to choose. This will allow me to experiment with my quick upbeat song chosen by cutting to these different shots - overall suiting my genre and song choice very well.

I will also be planning to shoot a sunrise in the morning of the Day 1 of shooting - which I am planning to be the opening of my music video. This will be filmed in the Peak District hills looking over Chesterfield, and I will be setting up my tripod near the pub 'Peacock' within the area Owler Bar (Postcode - Owler Bar, Sheffield S17 3BQ).

Also, the different cuts with scenery will present a wider approach to the outside, which is my initial main goal. These locations will be shots using different equipment and camera angles, allowing for more diversity in shots within my music video when editing.

Now I will plan my shots to correspond with the areas I am going to, however this might change when I arrive due to the possibility of different circumstances, such as the public using the facilities/area like the park.

BORNS - Initial Storyboard Ideas....

Hi everyone,

Whilst looking at my locations from my scouting and when thinking about my initial ideas from my pitch, I decided to create my storyboard. I especially found this quite challenging straight away, as I was struggling thinking of shots to include within the beginning beat of the song as it is so fast paced and is 15 seconds long.

I will be however taking some ideas from all of my storyboard creations in order to make my final storyboard. I especially like the idea about having a sunrise at the beginning of my song during the challenging beat of the song, in a creative way to open the music video. Also, when adding graphics on top of my shots in post-production, this sunrise would allow me to explore within this post-production concept straight away.
