Hi everyone,
When first starting to create my website, because I was a beginner, Wix enabled me to choose a 'Computer-Generator' which would take my suggestions from what I wanted my website for through previous selection boxes on the website, then it would create the website by itself in regards to the genre.
What concerned me about this process was the fact that because it was 'Computer-generated' my website would not be unique, as the computer-generator is going through settings already included within its algorithm. Therefore, because of the factor I am going to create my website from scratch, as I believe that this would make it more personal, as I could then place my own spin on the website in regards the the style and genre of my artist and relate further to my target audience.
Here is a video showing the results from my 'Computer-generate' website.
Hope you enjoyed it!

Website Initial Template Ideas....
Hi everyone,
Today I decided to think about my website in more detail - in terms of the layout. Therefore, I came up with a few template ideas that could potentially work.
Design 1:
Design 2:

Design 3:

Even though Design 3 is my favourite, I am still going get some audience feedback on each of the designs, in order to see other peoples preferences on the matter - as there might be better suggestions. I will also be asking people that are within my target audience and age group bracket of 13 - 24 year olds.

- I like the layout of this design as it adds a bit of diversity to it with the varied sections opposing each other.
- The website will be on one page and will have a scroll bar in order to access all areas on the page, allowing each section to keep at a suitable size to read.
- I like the idea that all of the information required is on one page, however, having links to these different sections maybe best so that the layout is simplified and easier for the user to understand and control.
Design 2:
- With this design I particularly like the uniqueness of the photo and logo of the artist being placed towards the left hand side of the webpage. However, considering the fact that I am thinking of using a horizontal landscape as my main webpage photo, therefore the vertical image idea is not suitable.
- I also feel like everything is not separated enough and doesn't give each heading a different section - this can become confusing for the user.
- Also, I feel like the design makes each individual small, and therefore will not be big enough for the user to read, or watch as my music video will be published - which is one of the main important sections of the website. This is because it's purely for a promotional basis and for the fans. Therefore, the particular section needs to be big in order to grab the users attention and too prevent them from getting distracted with the other sections on the page. As a result, within my next design I will aim, like Lana Del Rey's website, to fill the page and have individual yet bigger sections for each heading.

Design 3:
- From dividing this design up into different sections makes it less distracting and instead helps to guide the user through the website better, as I am thinking to have a scroll bar as well as the hyperlinks on a tool bar that will follow you through the webpage, therefore it gives you the choice on how to explore the page.
- However, the Merchandise section will be going on a separate page due to the fact that I want the section to be separated with its own layout that makes it easy for users to shop.
- This design is my favourite design out of my three designs made.

Even though Design 3 is my favourite, I am still going get some audience feedback on each of the designs, in order to see other peoples preferences on the matter - as there might be better suggestions. I will also be asking people that are within my target audience and age group bracket of 13 - 24 year olds.

What will my Website include?....
Hi everyone,
From looking at other artists websites I have come up with a list of the common tab heading or sections included within their website:
From looking at other artists websites I have come up with a list of the common tab heading or sections included within their website:
- Home - used to enables to place all of the recent updates from the artist, or tabs to the other webpages consisted on the website.
- Music - able to buy the music, or if not a music tab they're links on the home page suggesting where you can purchase their music, for example links to stores like HMV.
- Video - these videos are often linked from their YouTube official channels which gives the user further access to other music video/lyric video if they want to, otherwise usually all of the music videos would be all on their website.
- Gallery - the gallery would include shoots of the artist behind the scenes and in photo-shoot scenarios.
- Bio - the bio would usually include a brief story about the artist journey as a musician or just general information regarding the artist.
- Contact - the contact pages on the websites that I looked at, for example when looking at the actual artist BORNS, I found that his contact page provided a system where the user could put their email in and then they would receive updates via their email of the artist and the artist record label (Interscope Records).
- Shop - the shop would often include the price of the items - often separated into individual sections to make the layout more easily understandable.
Therefore, I will be including all of these features within my website in order to form a hub consisting of all of the information the user would like to know and see about the artist.

Website Builder Software....
Hi everyone,
Soon I will be starting to create my website, which will provide many features, including: up-to-date information, teaser videos, teaser pictures, behind the scenes shooting images, links to social media, links to enable users to purchase merchandise, links to download and streaming websites, and the main music that I am currently producing, etc.
As a result, I researched for information regarding website builder software, which includes:
WordPress -
CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor -
Joomla -
SITE123 -
I think that I will be choosing to use the website builder Wix to create my website, due to the description sounding simple and easy to use with many templates to choose from - suitable for a beginner. Therefore, this sounds like a perfect choice for me to enable me to begin to create my website.

Wix -
- Wix's offers simple options in order to create a great website but with easy steps
- The simplest option to choose is the Wix ADI (Artificial Design Intelligence) - this guides you though a series of questions before automatically creating your site for you - there is the ability for customisation, but the focus is to produce a fast and easy website for people who may not understand or know how.
- A more hands-on approach is available if you decided to choose the standard Wix Editor, where you can chose form hundreds of creative template. You can further tailor these templates to your own needs.
- Despite Wix being a cloud-based website builder, it still gives you a lot of control over the look of your site and placement of page elements.
- You can further liven your website up by using App Market to add features such as a newsletter and live chat.
WordPress -
- WordPress can be more complicate than Wix.
- You can customise the templates that are provided and use add-ons to make the site your own.
- This is a route many bloggers use, but WordPress also involves the requirement of hassle with working with the scripting of the webpage and harsh editing.
- You can create everything from a blog or photo sites, to an online store - with a number of templates to choose from.
- Creates an impressive and professional looking site.
- However, the downside includes the limited range of plugins and templates compared to other website builders.
CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor -
- Packs a professional punch.
- It involves split screen code/preview views, allowing the possibility of seeing the changes that you have made straight away.
- The website builder is great to get started quickly, as there are many different templates built into the programme.
- However, it might be a bit overwhelming for beginners - requires some HTML knowledge.
- The free version does not contain any spell-checking and code optimisation features.
Joomla -
- Has a huge collection of themes and extensions, which provide endless ways to customise the way your site looks and works.
- However, within the latter option, the interface is much less approachable than on WordPress, but there are lots of menus and options to work through, though it is not as polished as WordPress.
SITE123 -
- Start by choosing a general format, allowing you to create websites like a simple blog or a complicated online store.
- Allows for customisation, with everything being simple to use.
- In a matter of minutes you can create a site with an unlimited number of pages, complete with free hosting, with a library of free images and icons to work with.
- You are restricted to 500GB of web space and 1GB of traffic, but you can easily upgrade to one of the paid options.
I think that I will be choosing to use the website builder Wix to create my website, due to the description sounding simple and easy to use with many templates to choose from - suitable for a beginner. Therefore, this sounds like a perfect choice for me to enable me to begin to create my website.

Bruno Mars - 'That's What I Like'....
Hi everyone,
Recently Bruno Mars, has released a music video for his song 'That's What I Like':
The music video consists of graphical animation throughout, and I have been inspired by some of these graphics for my own music video. I really like this music video as the graphics are smooth and flow with the tempo of the song. I am hoping to do a similar - and as a result of the video I have had some ideas for graphics.
For instance....
I like the graphics where the white sparks are sparking from his hands when he clicks or points, and this is definitely a graphical technique that I could achieve due to it's simplicity:
I am also fond of the graphics when it outline his body when his moves - as this is another possibility that I could do:
I also like the graphics when the artist jumps or moves his feet which is highlighted by white sparks, this is another graphical design that I could do, as it emphasises the movement of the feet when jumping or dancing, and considering that my music video will contain a lot of jumping from the artist - this graphics designs will help me highlight this well:
I also like the graphics where it highlights the stripes on the artists shirt - which again is another graphics effect that I could achieve:
