Here is my final lyric video:
Within my lyric video I have decided to use the firework footage that I have already previously filmed, to which I am no longer including it within my main music video. This is because the contrast of the urban and rural scenes did not work with the firework footage, also there where complications with the green screen when wanting varied shots. However, the fireworks within the lyric video makes a great background for the lyrics, with the star sparkler being constant throughout with the intended purpose to link in with title of the song 'Seeing Stars'.
I have further included overlays of fireworks at the beginning beat of the song, to help exaggerate the visuals and the beginning of the song. Also, I have included overlays of fireworks contrasting with the main lyrics of the song, with Comet fireworks being overlaid over the lyrics: 'You've got me seeing stars' - almost acting like shooting stars. This emphasises these lyrics - drawing attention to it through visuals.
I have further used a larger firework to overlay the lyric: 'Brighter than ever' - again emphasises this specific lyric to the viewer. As a result, I am still linking to Andrew Goodwin Conventions and the idea of linking lyrics to visuals. This is because the word 'Brighter' overlaid with a larger and more vivid in colour which is lighter firework, thus portraying the connotations of the word through visuals.
I have also repeated this same combination of both the Comet fireworks and the larger firework throughout these specific lyrics within the song. However, I did change the colour of each segment of these fireworks through the use of colour correction in order to add more colour to the video and it makes it more versatile and visually appealing. Also, I did this to stick with the happy and fun theme I am going for with my overall package of the song and the artist - and the change in colours allows this to happen.
Overall, I think that the simplicity of it works well and doesn't take away from the main music video, as it is something entirely different. I have taken this idea from influences from The Chainsmokers lyric videos in comparison to their main music videos of the same song. This almost allows the two videos to stand separately and to be seen as individuals. Therefore, when the music video is released after the lyric video, it should be seen as more of a surprise and intriguing, as the audience is not expecting the huge change.
Hope you enjoyed it!
