1 Minute Music Video Task - CD Front and Back Cover....

Hi everyone,

These are my designs for the CD front and back cover for the cover of my 1 minute music video task where I chose to do the song Gone Gone Gone by Phillip Phillips. When making both front and back covers I used colour correct in order to achieve the effect I wanted. I enjoyed doing this as I found it interesting and fun to do. This is because of the way how you can change the feel and perception of the image using colour. I also used a preset template on Adobe's Photoshop to achieve both of my CD covers which made it easier to achieve the colour correcting needed.

CD Front Cover:

I intended for the front cover to be more like a silhouette feature, but I didn't want the artist to be fully black because I still wanted the details of the scenery to be seen, including the artist. I also wanted to achieve a mysterious intense visual of the sunset in the background. This is because it overall reflects upon the 1 minute music video of the song Gone Gone Gone by Phillip Phillips which the CD is aimed towards, because of the title.

CD Back Cover:

The back cover is cropped in half in order for me to change the colour of the image more accurately, this being the sky and the ground. I had to do this because when I was trying to make the sky a darker shade of blue and purple, this lead to the change in the colour of the grass to blue. I wanted the sky to be more of a darker shade of blue to try and match the front cover so that both sides of the CD would look like they would match. Therefore, separating both parts of the image was vital to get the different colours needed to create a realistic but yet bolder landscape.
Also, on my back cover I have included a QR Code which actually connects to my blog!

Hope you enjoyed this blog post!

See you soon!
