Day 3 Shooting - Working with a White Screen....

Hi everyone,

Today I will be discussing my experience when working with a white screen. Initially it was my idea to incorporate white screen effects within my music video in order to give it a break from the urban and rural side of the video. Therefore, I decided to use the white screen with various effects while within the production stage, making it easier for me if I decide to use the white screen clips in post production that I can easily switch and use which effect works better within the current context.

Even though I may not use any of this footage by doing the different white screen effects has helped to vary techniques within my production.

Day 2 Shooting....

This day was perfect to film due to the sunny weather - allowing the shots taken to relate to the summer vibe I am going for with my upbeat Indie pop song. The sun also allowed the reflection of the water to be more prominent, like my original vision when planning within my location scouting.

Sunrise Recording Fail....

Hi everyone,

Recently I decided to go out and start my filming over the weekend on the 8/01/10.
My schedule consisted of waking up early at 6:00 am, to travel to the Peak District in order to get a good shot of the sunrise looking over the hills.

It was scheduled to be a morning with clear skies, and it started like this when beginning to film. However, during the process the fog and mist started to slowly role in, preventing the sun to shine through the clouds - leading to a failed morning of shooting:



I will be filming another sunrise, which will be re-scheduled into the shooting schedule of Day 2 (21/01/17). I will also be location scouting for another place to shoot so that this problem does not happen again.

Day 1 Shooting....

Hi everyone,

Today I completed Day 1 of shooting my music video, despite the weather within the morning ruining my first shot of the sunrise (which I will have to pick-up the shot at a later date and re-film) the rest of the day of shooting turned out perfect.
I got a lot of my scheduled shots done.

The day also contained a lot of spontaneous filming due to the vast breadth of the location - allowing me to explore interesting shots while I was there, for example I did not just stick to the park within the peak district - I travelled around to get varied shots.

The day was fun and interesting to film, as it was my first day of shooting it went well and smoothly thanks to my shooting schedule, but the extra shots spontaneously filmed will also add something extra to my music video - if I include the shots.

Catering....

Hi everyone,

When looking at places to shoot I made sure that I was offering sources of catering, whether that would be pre-packed sandwiches or by making sure that there was a form of catering when we got to where we where shooting - this also included toilet facilities. Therefore, I found a catering spot which covered both of these needs for the day of production.

e.g. Coffee, sandwiches, including warm foods. 

It is important to keep the actor and the crew of the production satisfied and prepared to film all day, as we are exploring the peak district - especially in cold weather situations. This helps to keep positive vibes and enables the filming process to be done at a much higher standard as everyone is happy and refreshed.
